Alternatives to the Traditional Bridal Bouquet

White lilies and red roses, it's traditional and beautiful, but when you want to look a little different on your special day you might want to consider a wider variety of flowers. You may want a tropical and sculptural bouquet, or perhaps a more undone rustic arrangement. Whatever you chose you shouldn't be limited, pick what matches the theme of your wedding or even source the flowers yourself and make your own arrangement the day before. You can even chose not to have flowers in your bouquet anymore, you can instead have brooches or paper flowers, or even buttons.
Here is some inspiration to help you when planning for your big day.

Easy DIY Wedding Favours

It seems with the rise of DIY weddings, the traditional sugared almonds are becoming a little outdated, plus, in honesty I know few guests who enjoy a good sugared almond. So why not unleash your creativity and your personality and make your own favours that are uniquely related to you as a couple. It doesn't have to be edible, it might even be a comedy favour to make your guest laugh, but as long as it makes your guests smile and remember the day then it has done its job as a favour! Here are a few photos to help get your ideas flowing, but remember with your wedding you don't have to limit your creativity to convention.

Alternatives To The Veil

Increasingly brides are choosing to veer away from the traditional veiled white wedding, and instead pick unusual and striking headpieces and hair clips. Perhaps we're being more frugal, investing in accessories we can use again, rather than just for the special day, or maybe it's the desire to make your wedding day more memorable. Whatever the reason, here are some great alternatives to inspire your choice;

Add something blue to your wedding day with these dainty peacock eye clips, they're colourful but not overbearing and will keep you look remaining elegant. They are available at LucyohLucy on Etsy.

For a natural or outdoor wedding, try wearing a garland of flowers from StudioWedByMirela . Also perfect for festival weddings and a hippy vibe.

Vintage weddings look no further than a 20's style flapper hairband, crystal and feathers always look glamourous but when placed on a headband don't look overly glitzy. You can purchase this band at YJDesign on Etsy

For the alternative bride, look to Janie Basil retro headpiece designer extraordinaire, she embroiders all her headpieces herself, and can even incorporate your loved ones name.
